The Shadow Dragon is a Super-rarity pet added to Grow a Garden 2 on August 1, 2026 in the Fall Harvest update — the rarest pet in the update by a wide margin — and the source of the Veil mutation. It spawns anywhere on the Fall Harvest map at 0.00464% and costs 30,000,000 Leaves, and it also appears in all four Fall eggs at a 0.0524% weight. Its passive: flies around your gardens and has a chance to apply the Veil mutation when you plant a seed.
How to get Shadow Dragon
Three routes, and they are separate systems with very different odds. Map spawn: the Shadow Dragon has a 0.00464% chance to spawn anywhere on the Fall Harvest map, and once one has spawned you buy it for 30,000,000 Leaves. Eggs: it also appears in all four Fall eggs from Cornucopia Quests at a 0.0524% weight — the Fall Common Egg gives the normal version, the Fall Big Egg the Big version, the Fall Mega Egg the Mega version and the Fall Rainbow Egg the Rainbow version. Cornucopia rolls: each Cornucopia grants 5 rolls, and in the Fall Harvest pet category the Shadow Dragon sits at 0.15%. A Wolf's Full Moon howl can also spawn one, at 0.00395% of that pack's Fall Harvest table. Leaves are the Fall Harvest event currency — they are not Sheckles.

Tips
- Size is the real upgrade, not just the rarity: a Mega Shadow Dragon applies Veil at 30% per seed versus 10% for a normal one, and a Rainbow Mega hits 37.5%. Three times the Veil output from the same pet slot.
- Do not compare the 0.00464% map-spawn figure with the 0.0524% egg weight — they are two different systems. The map number is the chance a wild one appears at all; the egg number is its share of one hatch. Cross-mechanic percentages are not interchangeable.
- The Cornucopia's 0.15% is a within-category number, not a per-roll chance: each roll picks a category first and then an item inside that category, and the weight of landing on the Pets category in the first place has not been published. The real per-roll odds are therefore lower than 0.15% by an unpublished factor, and the figure does not line up against the 0.0524% egg weight or the 0.00464% map-spawn rate either. What the Cornucopia does give you is volume: each one grants 5 rolls, so the daily 5-quest set is the steadiest way to keep rolling.
- 30,000,000 Leaves is the buy price once a wild one has spawned — the spawn itself is free to wait for. If you are Leaf-poor, farming spawns costs time instead of currency.
- Do not count on the Wolf: its Full Moon pack lists Shadow Dragon at 0.00395% on the Fall Harvest table, the lowest of any listed route.
